To answer your question, your family home has been put on the Kansas Historical Society's list.It is being refurbished and brought back to its pristeen condition by Ed and Sandy Rust. It will be a showplace. We are excited by this, as there are only two other homes that have qualified for this honor. Give them a year to get it done, then check it out.

Hello again.
December has been a very busy month for the association, with many meetings and many christmas functions. I have been meeting with the city on the restoring 5th Street, and it should be in the works soon. They will be doing the brick sidewalks, redoing the street, placiong the vintage lights up, and building calmers and walk ways for the pedestrians. It should be beautiful when it is finished.
CHWC and City Visions is planning on building 67 new town homes in the Strawberry Hill neighborhood. they will be on the north side of the Hill, by Minnesota Avenue.they will sell from $170,000 to $220,000. The Down Town Shareholders are working on plans to refurbish Minnesota Avenue, so these plans will complimant each other.
Visit the Strawberry Hill Museum if you have time this Christmas. A masterpiece in decorations for the Christmas holiday. It is breath taking. This wonderful old 1890's home looks like a fairy tail in real life. And much history. Check it out.
The businesses on the Hill are doing well. We have many now, and we need to keep supporting them. Falitza'a, an Italian place with ambiance, Jones Barbeque, the best in town, Breits Deli and bar, good food, Antoinettes, great food, and Amy Renee's bakery, which smells good all over the Hill when she is baking. We also have a new cleaners, Hangers on the HIll which is doing well. Things are going great right now, and we hope to keep it going well.
January will be a slow month for us, as the association closes shop for a couple of months. The winter months are spent getting ready for the coming spring and summer on the HIll. I will keep the web informed of any important news that comes up.
Check out the story in the Wall Street Journal, dated December 22nd. It is a wonderful piece about Kansas City, Kansas, and how it is growing by leaps and bounds. Judge for yourself. But it certainly implys we are not a cow town anymore!!
